International DJ to Racing Driver
DJ to racing driver isn’t a widely trod career path but that hasn’t stopped Paul Sawyer making the leap with increasing success.
Alongside a DJ career that saw him work in Ibiza, perform on Radio 1 and have his own record label, Paul raced on two wheels both with engines and without. Following an injury in 2022 he decided to pursue his passion for motorsport via the Mini Challenge Clubsport. 2024 was his debut season and was a massive learning experience, however despite a relative lack of experience he performed strongly ending the season 5th in class. Considering Paul only started trackdays in 2023 his rise to being a podium challenger is remarkable and proves you don’t have to start karting at 5 to be competitive in national motorsport.
For 2025 Paul has stepped it up a gear with improvements to both the car and his driving. An increased testing schedule and greater knowledge of the circuits he’s competed on has allowed him to continue moving up the grid. Paul also decided to improve his race and team wear for the 2025 season and got in touch with Rocked-IT to bring his ideas to life. To keep cool in the intense world of circuit racing Paul chose a bespoke Torq Superlight suit and nomex to match up with his 2025 livery and showcase his partners.
But he didn’t stop there, being a man who understands the power of branding he developed a range of clothing for he and his team to wear. Again Torq was the go to partner for these and they created a range of team wear that complemented the new race suit and updated 2025 livery.
Now that Paul and the team looked the business, they had to perform on the track. And perform they did, straight out of the box the car was quick and Paul soon secured his first podium. With this rate of development it won’t be long before Paul is on the top step of the podium celebrating his first win!
